The death has occurred of

Raal Nordin

Raal Nordin, Church Street, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, 28th of July 2026, peacefully in the wonderful care of the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Portlaoise Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Raymond and Minnie.

Deeply regretted by his heartbroken husband Jason Brian Condron, sisters, Lynette, Esme and Diane, stepdaughter Zoe Condron, nephew, nieces, relatives and friends.

May Raal’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing in Grey’s Funeral Home Templemore (E41 Tr83) this Thursday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore on Friday at 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Templemore afterwards.

    On my most recent visit to Ireland I was met with a welcoming smile and warm embrace, one I hadn’t seen in awhile. One who I didn’t realise I had missed -quite- so much until that moment. His deep jovial voice weaving a thread of connection that filled in all the gaps.

    You see, my uncle was always eager to make sure family was well taken care of. After settling in, I was quickly roped into sprawls of scattered scrawls on bits of papers, messy mounds of unfinished business. A challenge. A puzzle. My favourite, my eyes sparkling with blazing glee.

    For hours we sat, side by side, feral-like in front of the fierce fire deciphering the mysteries of our family. A connection to those before, genealogy research was the glue that bound us to something bigger than ourselves.

    Uncle Raal always had the perfect words for hard times. Words of wisdom when we needed it, words of comfort during loss, words of gentle encouragement by fireside.

    Now that he’s gone, I wish I had the perfect words to say goodbye, to say we wish we had more time, to say how much he meant to us.

    We love you, Uncle Raal. Keep the fire warm for us ❤️
