  12. Nuala Cuddy

I was so shocked & saddened to hear of Carmel’s passing & also that her beloved Gary had passed in 2024. I worked with Carmel in the Dept. of Agriculture in Portlaoise many years ago & to say she was an absolute lady is an understatement. Carmel was the kindest, most unassuming & simcere person you could meet. She was gentle, engaging, interesting & always interested. Unfortunately, when Carmel left Portlaoise, life got in the way & we didn’t keep in touch. It was a privilege to know you Carmel. May you now rest in eternal happiness & peace with your beloved Gary. Gone but never forgotten 💔

  13. Ray and Linda Nesbitt

Dear Matthew and Rachel, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful mother Carmel.
I worked with Carmel in the finance office a couple of years ago, and she was one of the kindest, gentlest and most considerate people I have ever known. We worked side by side one another and shared so many stories of our lives with each other. Carmel loved all her family dearly, but as with all us mothers, you were both her pride and joy. May all the love that your loving parents showed you during their lives comfort you now in your grief and into the future.
Of all the many people I have crossed paths with, Carmel was the most genuine, gentle and fulfilled person I have ever met. She was an excellent and professional worker, a patient and kind colleague, a good friend and listener, with a wry laugh, a glint in her eye and a great sense of humour. Carmel was grateful for all she had in life, she loved your father and she loved you both immeasurably. If only there were more like her, the world would be a much better place. May her gentle soul rest in peace now x
