The death has occurred of

Carmel Leonard

Carmel Leonard (Nee Leahy) Orchard Court, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, 17th of June 2026, peacefully after an illness very bravely borne. Predeceased by her beloved husband Gary, dad Matt, brother Paul and sister Breda.

Deeply regretted by her loving and devoted son Matthew, daughter Rachel, Mother Carmel, sisters Rita (Kiely) and Patricia, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

May Carmel’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing in Grey’s Funeral Home Templemore (E41 Tr83) this Sunday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore on Monday at 12 noon. Cremation service in Grey’s Funeral Home afterwards.

She was an excellent and professional worker, a patient and kind colleague, a good friend and listener, with a wry laugh, a glint in her eye and a great sense of humour. I worked with Carmel in the Dept. of Agriculture in Portlaoise many years ago & to say she was an absolute lady is an understatement. Carmel was the kindest, most unassuming & simcere person you could meet. She was gentle, engaging, interesting & always interested.
