The death has occurred of

Mary Shelley (Nee Maher)

Park Avenue West, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, 27th of January 2022, predeceased by her husband Tony and brother Pierce.

Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Kathleen, Bridget and Patricia, son Anthony, grandchildren, Kathryn, Padraic, David, Conor and Sive. Greatgrandchildren Rory, Anna and Caoimhe, sons in law, daughter in law, sisters Kathleen McBride and Eileen Breen, brothers in law, sister-in-law, grandson-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May her gentle soul Rest in peace.

Reposing in Grey’s Funeral Home Templemore this Sunday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm. Requiem mass on Monday in the Church of the Sacred Heart Templemore at 12 noon. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery afterwards.

    It was with great sadness that the Board and staff of Templemore Community Services learned of the passing of Mary Shelley .

    For many years Mary was a very loyal and dedicated member of the then “committee” of Templemore community services . Her opinions mildly but firmly expressed, were always appreciated and valued .

    She fundraised for many projects including our first ever Minibus “ Slievenamon” .

    Together with Peggy Leahy , Mary travelled the highways and byways of the town , selling lines for our monster draw at the annual bazaar . So highly regarded were Mary and Peggy that no one could refuse them and their ticket selling ability was legendary.

    Mary also worked for many years in the office of the community services. There, her kind and caring manner endeared her to all . After her retirement , many clients regularly inquired after her such was the affection people felt for her .

    In all she she did …. Mary was quiet , dedicated and unassuming .

    She will be a huge loss to her family as she was greatly loved and the centrepiece of their lives .

    We extend very grateful thanks for all she did over so many years with Community Services and extend our deepest sympathy to her family.

    May she rest in peace .

Sorry I am only sending this now, but I have just seen it today, when I was scrolling through death notices. Just letting you know, we were at your Dad Tony’s Funeral years ago.. Even though my Mam Kathleen Shelley is now deceased, & so are my Aunt & Uncle Nuala & Billy Shelley. But I just thought I’d contact ye, when I saw the Death Notice, as I like to carry on tradition for my Mam & the Shelley Family in Nenagh and as I know your mam came to funerals in nenagh. So once again. My condolences to you all.
