Kitty Ryan

The death has occurred of Kitty Ryan (nee Shanahan, formerly Bishopswood), Barnane, Templemore, Co. Tipperary, 30th of November 2021, Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Portlaoise hospital after a short illness. Kitty, beloved wife of the late James, dear mother of Thomas, John, Kathleen and Ann-Marie. Predeceased by her siblings Martin, Liam, Nora, Agnes, Peggy and Maureen.

Will be dearly missed by her family, brother Mick-Joe, her sons-in-law PJ and James, adored grandchildren Jack, Emma, Lisa, Jamie and Cian, nieces, nephews and extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Her gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing in Grey’s funeral home Templemore from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday December 2nd with removal on Friday to St Mary’s church Drom, for 1pm mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    My dear aunt Kitty has left us.I gave all my summers in my childhood on holidays in Barnane.Kitty would have lovely brown bread made and a pot of pineapple jam which I tought was Devine.Her porter cake was delicious. She was so kind and generous and as I’d pack my bag to go back home she always had a gift for me.IThis year I was so lucky to have got the chance to visit her in August and she was in top form.2021 wont be forgotten by all the family.Aunt Maureen passed away in February and now Kitty.We are thinking of you Uncle Mick joe at this hard time for u.Kittys children Thomas John Kathleen and Ann Marie.Her son in Laws PJ and James and her 5 grandkids.We will all miss aunty Kitty so much.I tought the world of her.John was a brilliant carer to her and she was so happy to be able to stay in her own home at the age of 91.Rest in peace dear Aunty Kitty.Jimmy will be waiting for you along with Maureen who has just gone ahead of you.My mother Peggy and aunt Agnes and uncle liam little Aunt Norah and baby uncle Martin.Rest easy Kitty with your loved ones and we will toast to you with your favourite glass of sherry .Sleep softly in heaven dearest aunt.xx
