Dear Lily and Pat, I was shocked and saddened to hear, just today, of Mary’s sudden death. We worked together in North Tipp County Council many years ago before the establishment of the health boards. When I left to take up journalism, we continued to meet for lunch with the late Peggy Daffy in O’Meara’s Hotel every day. Mary was a lovely presence in our lives then and I feel very privileged to have known her. May she rest in peace.
